Sarry was born and raised in Michigan. After moving to Chicago in 2013; Sarry worked in a few salons and quickly realized they were not up to par within the customer service realm. After a fourth attempt in finding a salon home; he decided he would open up a salon and start fresh. It was in August of 2015 that in six days SHY Hair Studio was born. SHY are his initials and the salons is an extension and evolution of his craft, passion and urgency to allow every client to feel at home and welcome. Sarry wants all clients to come into the space knowing their needs, stories and their energy is always appreciated and will always be cherished. His biggest want in life is to be able to be a voice for the underdog and to uplift his clients so they feel their most beautiful and authentic selves. As of September 16, 2022; SHY Salon and Spa is born! We are so excited to welcome you to your next safe haven not only for your hair, but for your spa needs!

What to Wear:

First and foremost; when getting a SHY Spa Experience, it is important to us that you feel safe and comfortable. We will never force you to wear or do anything that makes you uncomfortable. For any appointment, wear any clothing that is comfortable for you. We provide robes and towels for you. For the ideal service provided, being nude will allow your provider to have the most access to work out any area of tensions during massages or stress especially during a facial. However, this is not a requirement of your experience. You choose how much to remove or keep on for your comfort.

The Setting:

You set the mood for your appointment. Choose whether to close the door or leave it open, the music being played, the lights being on or off. We want your experience to be exactly as you want it. We are here to make sure it feels the way you want. If at any point you feel uncomfortable or unsafe; please say so immediately. We will stop your service, check in with you, and see if there is anything we can do to make sure you feel heard.

Our Promise:

Every SHY Spa Experience will include a consultation before and after to make sure we talk about you and your needs. If you are getting a massage or facial and there are certain areas you do not want massaged or any attention drawn to; your provider will respect your wants and never question you. This is our absolute promise and we will never ever make you feel any other way than loved, safe and heard.
